Our Mission

The Corporate Center for Business & Technology is a dynamic Career & Technical Education (CTE) program at New Dorp High School designed to prepare students for college, careers, and entrepreneurship. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of leaders by combining academic rigor with hands-on business experiences, leadership opportunities, and exposure to real-world industries.

Who we are

We are more than a classroom—we are a community of innovators, creators, and problem-solvers. Students in our program explore business through simulations, student-run companies, and project-based learning that mirrors real-world challenges. With a curriculum that blends technology, marketing, entrepreneurship, and finance, students develop both technical skills and the soft skills needed for success in today’s competitive workforce.

OUr Promise

The Corporate Center doesn’t just teach business—it builds confidence, creativity, and leadership. Our graduates leave with the experience, skills, and mindset to thrive in college, careers, or their own entrepreneurial ventures.

What Makes us Unique

  • Students don’t just learn about business—they run it. From classroom companies to pop-up shops, investment challenges, and product fairs, our program puts students in charge of real projects with real stakes. Every unit ties to a practical outcome, giving students the chance to test ideas, make mistakes, and grow as leaders and problem-solvers.

  • Our Executive Board functions like a real corporate leadership team, with students serving in roles such as President, CFO, Event Coordinator, and Marketing Director. They lead fundraisers, coordinate trips, and shape program culture. This hands-on governance structure gives students authentic leadership experience while teaching collaboration, accountability, and strategic planning.

  • Our signature annual events connect students with opportunities outside the classroom:

    • Tech to Trade Career Day spotlights non-traditional pathways, including trades, city jobs, and entrepreneurship.

    • Women’s Day Business Event connects female students with a network of women leaders who share their real-world experiences.

    • The Corporate Gala celebrates student success in a red-carpet showcase of projects, competitions, and leadership.

These events help students see themselves in future careers and build confidence in networking.

  • Through our podcast, A Cup of Corporate, students become co-hosts, producers, marketers, and editors. Each episode blends student voice, alumni perspectives, and professional insights, giving them both a creative outlet and media production experience. This not only builds communication skills but also ensures students see their voices amplified beyond the classroom.

  • By the time they graduate, students can earn more than 13 free college credits, complete advanced coursework, and gain professional certifications. Combined with real-world projects and leadership experiences, our students graduate with a portfolio, resume, and a clear edge in college admissions, internships, and career readiness.
