Corporate Center Electives

The Corporate Center for Business & Technology offers a specialized sequence of career and technical education (CTE) electives designed to prepare students for college, careers, and entrepreneurship. Over four years, students complete a 10-credit business and technology pathway that fulfills the requirements for a CTE Endorsed Diploma, demonstrating advanced skills in business management, marketing, accounting, data analytics, and entrepreneurship. Each elective builds upon the last, allowing students to gain real-world experience, earn certifications, and graduate with a professional edge in today’s competitive workforce.

Course Overview:
Students gain a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to start, manage, and sustain a successful business while exploring the ethical principles that guide responsible entrepreneurship. Through the University of Delaware’s EntreX Program, students engage in college-level coursework focused on innovation, leadership, and business development. They apply financial literacy and accounting principles to real-world business simulations and learn how to balance profit with integrity, social responsibility, and sustainable practices.

Enterprises

Course Overview:
As the capstone experience of the Corporate Center program, this course challenges students to lead their peers in running a fully functioning virtual company through Virtual Enterprise International (VEI) while applying data-driven decision-making learned through Business Analytics. Students take on executive roles, manage departments, and present their company’s strategies and performance in professional competitions at the city, state, and national levels. Using real-world analytics tools, students track sales, marketing trends, and financial health to inform business decisions and enhance their company’s competitive edge. They regularly create and deliver high-stakes presentations, trade show pitches, and investor reports, demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and mastery of business communication.
