THe Executive Board

The Executive Board is the leadership council of the Corporate Center for Business & Technology. Modeled after a real corporate leadership team, the Board gives students the opportunity to take on professional-style roles, lead initiatives, and represent the voice of their peers. The Board manages events, fundraisers, media projects, and community partnerships, ensuring that students are directly shaping the culture and success of the program.

Projects and Initiatives

Fundraisers

The Executive Board organizes fundraisers that function as real-world business operations, giving students hands-on experience in finance, marketing, and sales. From running a daily snack shop and themed holiday pop-up markets to creating and selling branded Corporate Center merchandise, students manage everything from pricing to inventory. They also experiment with digital fundraising strategies—like QR code donation drives and social media promotions—that mirror modern marketing campaigns.

Events

Planning and hosting events is one of the Board’s most visible responsibilities. Students take the lead in designing and executing signature program experiences such as Tech to Trade Career Day, where tradespeople, city workers, and entrepreneurs share their paths; the Women’s Business Event, which connects female students with accomplished women leaders; and the Corporate Gala, a red-carpet showcase of student projects and achievements. The Board also helps deliver the Boardroom Battle pitch competition and monthly Business Spotlight Days, ensuring events are engaging, professional, and impactful.

Competitions

The Executive Board develops and manages competitions that challenge students to apply their skills in creative and competitive ways. These include Shark Tank–style pitch events like the Boardroom Battle, brand redesign contests, and fast-paced budgeting challenges where students simulate financial decision-making under pressure. Larger events, like the Business Olympics, mix teamwork, strategy, and creativity across multiple challenges. These competitions allow students to practice collaboration, critical thinking, and leadership in exciting, gamified environments.

Media & Promotions

Marketing and communication are essential to the success of any business, and the Board oversees all media and promotional efforts for the program. Members produce A Cup of Corporate, the student-run podcast, by scheduling guests, editing episodes, and promoting content online. They also create digital campaigns for events, design posters and flyers, and manage the program’s social media presence. Quarterly newsletters and highlight reels showcase student work and keep parents, staff, and alumni connected to the Corporate Center’s success.

STudent Engagement

The Board ensures that all students in the program feel connected and included. They run mentorship programs where upperclassmen support freshmen and sophomores in navigating the program. They also host mini “Corporate Challenges”—short, fun competitions like design sprints or branding contests—that build school spirit and teamwork. By conducting surveys and collecting feedback, the Board makes sure every student has a voice in shaping program culture, while also organizing icebreakers and theme days to strengthen community bonds.

Community Connections

The Executive Board bridges the classroom with the outside world by connecting students to alumni, businesses, and community organizations. Alumni panels give graduates the chance to share their journeys and offer mentorship. Local businesses partner with the program for consulting projects or branding collaborations led by students. Service initiatives, such as community fundraisers or volunteer efforts, highlight the program’s commitment to giving back. Networking nights, where parents, alumni, and professionals interact with students, provide powerful opportunities for relationship-building and real-world exposure.
